INTRODUCTION
WELDING SET ENERGY SAVER saves considerable amount of energy on weld sets.
PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
Normally weld sets are keeps continuously ON, although welding operations are not carried out. During these periods the welding transformer draws the magnetizing current or no load current, which is not doing any useful work. Electronics sensing unit detects these non-weld periods and switches off the power to the welding transformer after interval and hence saves power during these periods.
When welding operator just need to touch the electrode to the material to be welded and the unit instantly starts the weld, which then can be carried on continuously.
Welding set energy saver is merely a control unit and depending on the capacity of the weld set suitable contactor has to be used.
